This is a promotional music poster for an all girl punk band, Dolly- Not- So- Nice. I wanted to focus on a more simple design. One that has simple images, a bright color, and an uncluttered structure, as this is more eye catching than a poster that contains too much information. Trying to mirror the theme of the gig with an appropriate graphic design, I used some still - life photos that I arranged and photographed my Barbie dolls attacking one another as the whole poster image. I believed the concept of a girl punk band and violent dolls worked out nicely. I used a dual tone effect on the photos to make the pink pop out more on a dark background. I organized the required information, such as the name of the gig, location, names of bands playing at the gig, time, and admission in tilted motions. This helped to create an interesting flow and layout to draw people’s attention.
